I've been to many terrible tailors in Durham, where I live. I have heard good things about the shop recommended above. Also: I heartily recommend Triangle Tailors, which is across the street from the mall, in the same plaza as REI. Easy in and out.

I used Bano Boutique last year. They were wonderful to work with and even dropped the dress off at the school when the alterations were finished. Our dress required only a simple fix, hemming and the top nipped though. Here is a link to their website. http://www.banoboutique.com/alterations/
