I need your input. I would like to find a primary care doctor who is NOT in the WVU health care system While I like my current doctor, an office visit means that I pay...
Tony P. replied:
Judy i'm the same way. I'm fed up with WVU Health care and their now "Facility Fee" on top of a 150-200 doctor visit. Its ridiculous. If you find one let me know because I have 2 little ones on top of myself and Erin.

Amanda W. replied:
How about Womens Health Care of Morgantown for your exam? They are not associated with Ruby at all
Teddi L. replied:
Call Betty Puskar and tell them that you are "under-insured" and cannot possible pay $200.00 for a referral and them more for the exam. They helped me when I mover from L.A. and had a high deduct. Also call HEALTHRIGHT on Spruce Street and ask for Laura, but tell them why you need information. They are also great for resources for these things. Do this now. Talk to me after that Judy. You know how resourceful I am!
Teddi L. replied:
Remember that there is Fast Track in Giant EAGLE at the Univ. Town Center - so much better than Med Express, $40.00 cash in and out the door and G,E, Pharmacy gives away many drugs now

My physician is Charlene Horan. Her office is in Core, and it's a trek to get to her, but it's worth it. She is affiliated with Mon General. Sorry to say I don't know about costs with other insurance companies, as I have Humana. Charlene is a rare one - when I was ill last spring, she came to see me in the hospital every one of the eleven days I was there. There are only about 4 docs in Morgantown who would do that.
Teddi L. replied:
Charlene Horan is worth the "trek" and she is an amazing human being!!
Amanda W. replied:
Dr Dixon at Wedgwood sees pretty much my whole family and is awesome
Teddi L. replied:
And I went to Dr. Bowlin at Wedgewood and I LOVE HIM!! but without INSURANCE they are all expensive. I would go to Fast Trak and pay $40.00 cash
I am looking for a new General Practitioner in Morgantown. I'm fed up with mine. I go to Wedgewood right now & they've done worked my last nerve. Shoot me some names,...
Erin C. replied:
I see her for general and girly stuff and Amy Norton at Mnt State Derm for skin care.
Michelle K. replied:
Lisa, then don't go to Wedgewood...I love Dr. Byron, but the practice sucks.
Kerri D. replied:
Have you seen Dr Marcucci there? He's been my doc for about 14 years...I love him
Jessica C. replied:
Kelly Mcbee at family medicine at the health science center. Super sweet
Erin C. replied:
I see Mary Ann Long at Cheat Lake Physicians. She's very thorough !
Georgette A. replied:
We see Dr. Hess At HHP. Like him a lot. He's really down to earth. And he takes his time with you.
Georgette A. replied:
It was Hess,Horvath, and Payne. Payne left but they kept the name. They are on Collins Ferry Road. Dr. Horvath is really liked by her clients and we see Alan Hess and love him. Arts been going to him for about 4 years.
Kym O. replied:
My mom and sister go to Dr. Allen Hess (sis went to school with him). He is very personable and caring. Since my doc at Cheat Lake Physicians quit (Dr. Pallie) I am seeing Dr. Lindsey Weglinski. She's nice but I haven't had enough visits with her to give an evaluation on her core practices. Having been to several docs, I LOVE the MyChart system at CLP, as it puts all of your information in one place, is very interactive and easy to use...I really miss that feature at other practices. While I may not understand all of the information from tests, it is SO nice to see test results as soon as they are available. You can check on future appointments, schedule them, see what they have as your current meds, request refills and even send a note to your doc. Plus, their facility often allows for a lot of the testing to be done right then and there (like blood work, ultrasounds, mammograms, etc.).
Any suggestions for Primary Care Physician who takes PEIA?
John M. replied:
Dr. Allen Barnett, Lakeside Family Practice. He has been great with me, and I have had bad experiences with doctors in the past so this is not a light recommendation.:-)
