I am not a fan of EMC, but I love our pediatrician -Dr. Bardina. She is very attentive, always right on the diagnosis.

I see a lot of comments about things being cheap. If it's cheap it isn't good and if its good it isn't cheap. If you have to ask how much something is, you can't afford it. Go to the European Clinic or American Medical Center if you want top treatment. Sounds like the rest is just hit and miss. The health care here is by far cheaper than the U.S. no matter how good the place, so won't hear any gripe from me.

Unfortunately the doctors don't speak English as far as I know but that didn't pose a problem for us as my wife is russian. Also this hospital is very new and modern.

I had a great time giving birth at the roddom at City Hospital 15 (not to be confused with roddom 15, apparently) in east Moscow a few years back. Wrote it about it for Foreign Policy. It's not centrally located, and I'm not entirely sure that anyone there speaks English, but it could be a good fall-back option if you guys need it. If it's the case - doctor would take urine sample to see infection but before seeing test result might prescribe something like бисептол (Biseptol). You can buy it in any drugstore without prescription and it helps from a number of issues. Again, seeing doctor is important, but if she has a strong pain and no time to arrange a doctor - I would personally take Biseptol.

It was OK for the price. Both were taken out at the Taganskaya clinic...the thing with Russian dentists is that they really.pump a lot of pain killers so all is fine. I can also recommend icebergclinic.com near shukinskaya.. but more expensive.

Alan McGregor knows a lot about this and might be able to help/advise if you speak to him privately. My experiences with EMC have been extremely poor. They have a reputation to mis-diagnose, to the extent that I didn't know my leg was broken for two weeks! Weird, but true.
