Dr. Nelson for sure. He is a fabulous dermatologist!!!
William L. replied:
No Piper, I think Dr. Bell would be a good one to see for that ..
Samantha B. replied:
Oooh, I hate to be a party pooper, but I can't stand Dr. Bell.
Lizzy B. replied:
Try Dr. Goodman on Main St across from Jr's Food land. He has a long waiting room time but he is around $67 for an appointment. For an eczema flare-up he will usually give a shot of Kenalog and a steroid ointment. And depending on the severity of it maybe even a dose pak. The ointment he prescribes me is $9 ( without insurance) and it consists of three good size " tubes."
Piper C. replied:
Oooh, Lizzy, that sounds pretty good to me! He has great reviews here, too: http://www.vitals.com/specialists/dermatologists/tennessee/murfreesboro Edit: Well, that site also says he is deceased, the only review is from 2008, and no one is answering the phone (I expected a recording). Lizzy and Lisa, when is the last time y'all saw him?
Lisa C. replied:
Dr. Goodman! Call ahead to see how is day is going before just showing up at your scheduled appointment time. He takes his time, his staff knows he runs late. Hes good people though and a Downtown business!!
Samantha B. replied:
Dr. Bell that is. I have heard good things about Dr. Nelsen at Stones River Derm, but haven't seen him personally.
Piper C. replied:
Ah, that site apparently thinks Mark Goodman, who passed away last year, is Dr. Charles Goodman. Never mind. Thanks so much, ladies!
Lizzy B. replied:
Piper Chapman also Vanderbilt has a great photo therapy lab but the downside is the cost. Last time I went it would have been $80 if I hadn't had insurance.
Bill J. replied:
I don't know about pricing but Dr. Nelson at Stones River Dermatology is a super nice guy and I expect he would treat you as fairly as possible. He and his family also live in our downtown community. It might be worth a phone call to see if they can offer a cash discount or something.
Andrea N. replied:
Dr. Goodman is so sweet. He definitely takes his time with his patients and is at least half the price of everyone else.
Anyone have a suggestion for a good dermatologist in Murfreesboro? Is Dr. Bell the only option?

I've been a happy patient of Murfreesboro Dermatology Clinic for years. The only bad experience I had was with Minity Shukla when I was getting laser hair removal under my arms. She just came in and started doing it (and it was quite painful) and then she stopped and went, "You know, we have numb cream we can put on." I said, "Oh you give that?" so relieved. And then she shrugged and went, "Next time, ask for it." and started zapping me again.
Diane W. replied:
Dr. Robb at Allergy and Dermatology. He helped me when no one else would.
