Redland, which is east of Riverside, has a ton of cool places to eat, get coffee, and find comic books. I highly recommend a place called "A la minute"...they make ice cream...and I'm not really an ice cream person...but i love that place.

I would suggest taking a drive on the Ortega Highway over into south Orange County (Probably more of a weekend trip). The highway dumps you off in South Orange County (San Juan Capistrano) and it take you right through the Cleveland National Forest, very scenic drive. Plenty of hiking and I would imagine good birding since it is one of the last coastal chaparral environments left in the world. Also there are plenty of good eats down there and cool places to shop, maybe give Laguna Beach, Dana Point or San Clemente a shot.
Edit: As far as Taco and Noodles go, I'll give you a word of wisdom from my father " Dont eat where the white people eat "insert" type of ethinc food. If you want good Mexican food go where the Mexicans eat, If you want good Vietnamese food go where the Vietnamese people eat"

I'm busy all this weekend, but I really need to get out for a hike. I was thinking maybe spending next Saturday at the [Santa Rosa Plateau](http://www.rivcoparks.org/education/santa-rosa-plateau/santa-rosa-plateau/) if you're up for that.

For fish tacos I recommend Wahoos.(Chain with many locations) They are great. If fish tacos don't sound like your thing I recommend you try them before you judge them. I personally prefer blackened fish over the battered and fried kind.

Old Town Temecula has some great places. The Public House, although small inside, has a great patio area in the back. The Edge, too, has space, I believe. Although they don't have food, the Wine Collective next door to The Edge has an upstairs room with plenty of space (enough for a caterer if you wanted food).
