But Ibis Bilbao is good. If youre driving down towards Madrid i recommend Hotelandgo at Rivabellosa or Hotel Via Norte in Miranda del Ebro - their restaurants are less pricey than Ibis.
Can anyone give me any information about the hotel in Malaga with the roof bar with great views? Any good? Is it open in winter? Prices etc.. thank you

Also this hidden away secret - located in a passageway off Plaza de la Constitucion - just go in and straight to the lift just inside and press top button. Not open until after about 4 pm and can get VERY crowded https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g187438-d7108547-r336987955-Chinitas_Urban_Hostel-Malaga_Costa_del_Sol_Province_of_Malaga_Andalucia.html

Sanlucar de Barrameda is not for from Cadiz. We stayed there a couple of nights and loved it. It’s on the coast, has dozens of restaurants and is on the edge of the National park. And you’ll be able to practice your Spanish. To get to Cadiz, drive to Puerta de Santa Marie and take the ferry. Hotel Barrameda is right in the centre of Sanlucar. Quite simple, but lovely
Marina G. replied:
Thank you all very much for the suggestions.I´m going to save all the ideas for future trips when I have more time to research each place. For now Margaret Mcfadyen has sold me on Cadiz, so that is where I´ll be heading, thanks Margaret. Now to find somewhere to stay:)

What we did was 3 nights in Los Angeles doing Hollywood walk of fame, Universal Studios, etc., then 2 nights in Las Vegas (not my cup of tea but saw the main attractions). Then took a trip to the Grand Canyon (the North Rim is spectacular). drove through Sequoia National Park (fabulous redwoods) and on to Yosemite (also fabulous). Then to San Francisco (loved Fisherman's Wharf, China Town, trolley cars, etc. You should do the Duck ride - great fun). Then drove highway one along the coast with a few stops along the way. Took nearly 3 weeks - tiring but a great holiday.
Sally M. replied:
Oh and if you plan on visiting a lot of National Parks there's a Visitor Pass that you can buy for a year but saves you money as it's cheaper than paying per park. http://store.usgs.gov/pass/index.html

Any recommendations for a luxury hotel in Malaga Centro for a special occasion.....Rooms with a balcony?

If you are looking for a "balcony" to sit on then difficult as most are "Romeo & Juliet" type balconies in the centre, best hotel for me (in the centre) is the Room Mate Valeria (lovely roof terrace with small plunge pool) : https://tapasinmalaga.wordpress.com/2016/04/17/the-newest-room-mate-hotel-opens-in-malaga-room-mate-valeria/
Does anyone have a recommendation for a cheap hostel/hotel relatively near the airport? Thanks!
