Hey everyone. So i'm taking my boyfriend to my mothers vacation house in Mondron this summer, and I wonder if any of you have any suggestions for activities that we can...
Fiona W. replied:
Goodness Ingrid ... loads of places and things! You could try running a search within the group, something like 'day trip' might bring up lots of suggestions. Malaga city has lots; for specific Malaga suggestions you could look in the FB group Expats in Malaga City. There's Nerja (caves, beaches), for markets it kind of depends on what kind you like but most villages have some kind of little market, some places have bigger 'rastro' mixed 2 nd hand/groceries/clothes/antiques - Nerja, Malaga, Fuengirola. Plenty of attractions on the costas. There are even FB groups for music in the area. You've got plenty of time to have a really full (potential) schedule!
Chloe G. replied:
Water activities on lake Viñuela - see Aqua Vinuela - or lake Bermajales beyond Alhama which has a beach bit too.
Dan G. replied:
You found a boyfriend -into- shopping? Wow! they're only just less rare than unicorns. Being specific, The motor museum in Malaga, for cars. Shopping, both the big centre by Ikea and the one further on as you leave fuengirola have some different shops (i forget the names of the centres, but they're not hard to find) but Malaga centre in general is pretty good. Food, the new "food market" mercado merced, near plaza merced. (though, we didn't think it was that good, really, a bit... Overly staged /trying too hard?) Music, look at teatro cervantes, they have a bit of a festival programme on (John Grant!) Then, the usual, Camino del rey? (Book in advance), a trip to Granada and the alhambra (book now!) you could go via Alhama de Granada (up thru zafaraya) and go to the thermal spa there. Nerja, sea kayaking to the caves /waterfall? Frigiliana & Walk up the Río / river bed. Festival of 3 cultures, depending what dates you're here. Some varied music and food there. Ronda isn't too far, maybe an overnight stay or 2,more than a day trip, nice views and stop at bodegas de sentinel (Street under the cliff overhang /caves is quite photogenic)
Christine W. replied:
You could also visit the Alhambra in Granada. Stunning place and depending when you are here there could be a flamenco show in the gardens. Last year the was a modern take on flamenco called A Poet in New York - it was fabulous!
