Call the Nashville Bar Association for recommendations. They should be able to give you some names and then you can check references, if you don't get what you're looking for here.

patent law requires a specialized legal study. Most general practicioners know absolutely nothing about patent work. The firm of Waddy and Patterson, now Patterson P.C., has been around longer than any other patent firm I know of. If you search Intellectual Property Law, looking on AVVO, you might find someone. I practiced law for many years but I never had any reason to refer anyone to a patent attorney.
