Same thing happened with us and looking for a doodle. I searched on and off for two years. No one wants to get rid of the buggers. Good sign? We finally found Furry Murray at a small farm near La Grande. I got a lot of flack for buying a dog. I gave it a good shot trying to rescue an adult dog. I honestly did not want a puppy (3 small children is enough). We don't regret our decision tho. We love him:)

If you have a vet that you like, even if it is at a distance, stay with them... The ONLY thing I miss about moving to New England, from Florida, is my dog's vet! The entire office was a great experiance. Only you can decide what a "good Vet" is... It is determined by the level of care and comfort you get from them (and cost, of course!)

I was at angell Memorial the other day seeing an orthopedist for my dog and they confirmed that Wellesley-Natick is exceptional and one of the few vets that are trained in laparoscopic surgery. Both my girls had laparoscopic spays at W-N and recovered in a day!

Highland Animal Hospital. We've had great experiences with Drs. Scott, Mahoney and Floyd. The front desk staff and techs are great, the doctors/staff always call promptly with results and/or to check on your pup. We've also never had any issues getting an appointment (sometimes same day if we call for a specific issue). Oh and they're open until 8 several days a week - so makes it easier to get an after work appt.
