Anybody know of any good real estate lawyers that practice in south jersey?

Diane DeWitt Mazzacca in order to become compliant, I would have to build an addition, move the utilities, replace the heating system or somehow move the ducts to the upstairs walls or something, and then fill in the basement while installing flood vents. In order to do this, I have to 1) secure funding, 2) convince the bank that I need to do this so that I have a sellable house. The house itself was appraised at $120,000, it only 724 sq ft, one bedroom and a finished attic. I'm looking at all options since from what I am reading and looking at home prices, my house is probably only worth half of what is appraised for due to the flood insurance rates. Sigh!!!

Steve Thompson no this is my only home. If I had a second home, I would sell it or sell this one at a loss or something. LOL

Try Chip Merlin, you can google him to get his number...I don't know what I did with his cards. But it sounds to me like someone LIED to you during the purchase of your home. We all started hearing about Biggert Waters and the toll it was going to take on flood insurance premiums. And if they say they didn't know...that is a joke. I got wacked on my premium that was due April 2013...they knew what they were doing. And I am going to think that you are not alone in this either...keep posting and asking questions...go to your township and make friends with the township administrator. Find out who else purchased a home during that same time frame then contact them. Nothing like doing your own homework and at the same time you will get to know your neighbors and find others to help fight your fight!!!
