Does anyone have hotel recommendations for New Orleans? Preferably close to the French Quarter? I've only been there twice...slept in my car during Mardi Gras in college...

When r u going? Amy and Doug stayed at Prince Conti. If u have a car be prepared to shell out for parking.
Dawn F. replied:
Also check vrbo.com. Rentals. More space no parking charges. Sometimes minimum night stays and deposit charges but have never had any issues getting a deposit returned quickly.

http://www.sonesta.com/royalneworleans/ Royal Sonesta - we stayed there the last time... parking is underground the hotel. Nice to walk out the front door into the French quarter and the rooms were nice with decent rates from what I recall.

The Royal Sonesta is beautiful on their website. I think this might be the place! We're staying during Wrestlemania weekend for the kids so all of the hotels are super expensive that weekend...will just have to deal with it!
Question about Mexico...we are hoping to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday at a resort in Mexico in 2017. We want to take our kids and would like to exchange for an...

We love Coral Baja! We go every year. We stopped by in March to see how things were going and it looks fantastic. Can't wait for next year.:) We love the atmosphere of San Jose over Cabo!

Don't use your points. IMHO. Go to www.applevacations.com and you can get great package deals including flight/resort/transport to and from airport for about the same price as the all inclusive fees.

We LOVE Playa Grande. We use RCI to stay here. I love it because its on its own beach. http://www.playa-grande-cabo.com/ We do not do all inclusive because she feel obligated to just stay where you're at. I like getting out and trying places. We have a favorite taco stand that is far off the tourist map we go to almost everyday we are there for lunch.

Fiesta Americana is great I always stay there, great spa too! Love their in house lotion

We stayed at Playa Grande in March. Its a really nice resort and we didnt have to do the all inclusive which made us happy. I think it's too expensive plus we like going out and trying all the local restaurants.

Coral Baja (San Jose del Cabo) is very nice. Swimming there is a big NO due to the dangerous undertow, but the pool is awesome! One section has a swim-up bar. Happy hour has both adult & non-alcohol beverages. If it's been rebuilt since the hurricane last year, Mega store with groceries & clothes (& many folks who want to talk to you about time shares) is a short walk away, if you'd rather not drive. Downtown San Jose is beautiful - see the historic areas! Caveat: Not sure how things are since the hurricane. Maybe others on this site have more info on that.

I own Elysian Fields Inn. We are minutes from Frenchmen St and easy walk to the Quarter. Currently number 5 on TripAdvisor out of 140 or so BnBs. We have central air! Check out my website or give me a call. This has been a licensed BnB for over 20 years.

Balcony Guest House was up the block from a great coffee spot and a quick 10 min walk to all of the “good stuff”. My boyfriend and I started out day with early morning walks around the neighborhood and it was very charming.

Check out The R Bar. Its a bar with several rooms on top. Stay in the attic room, in my opinion it's the best. We have stayed in several different rooms there and we love it. Really cool vibe and the manager, Adam, is awesome.
