Too bad you're on the South side. Unless you're leaving something out it should be an easy fix. I'm old fashion I like to still use sweated copper for my supply lines. I haven't used them but the "Shark Bite" (Home Depot) or "Gator Bite" (Lowes) fittings are supposed to work very well. No glue, no solder, and can be disconnected if needed. Cut it back to clean copper and start fresh. http://www.sharkbite.com/

Nell, I don't do this particular type of repair, but are you going to refinish the whole floor areas after the repairs are done? If so, the people who refinish these floors will do that for you and you don't have to use two subcontractors to get it done. If you are just wanting it patched then we possibly can help you.
