Have his spine checked. My girl turned out to have spine problems - diagnosed by MIR at Fitzpatrick Referrals. Usual vet did not pick on that and kept on looking at legs - the problem was the spine. Back legs weakness, problems getting up etc etc. Similar symptoms to arthritis and/or hip problems but she already had double hip replacement (at Fitzpatric Referrals) so I knew it was not hips, had her referred back to FR and MRI shown big spine issues:(
