I go to John at south shore tattoo in Massapequa. https://www.memberleap.com/members/directory/search_bootstrap.php?org_id=AOPP&B1=X This organization ensures that the cleanliness standards are high so your risk of infection are lower.

I've only gotten ear piercings, which I've stretched out a few times, but Mooshu at Village Tattoo was great. Here they are on Yelp: [https://www.yelp.com/biz/village-tattoo-nyc-new-york](https://www.yelp.com/biz/village-tattoo-nyc-new-york)

Also there is a place in chinatown to buy piercing jewelry, look it up. Good luck. It's a warehouse of sorts but anyone can go there

For anyone else reading, it is much safer and hygienic to get your ears pierced at a tattoo shop by a licensed piercer! This means even for children! So you parents out there, take your kids to a tattoo shop! (and you adults should go too) Related article: https://www.scarymommy.com/piercing-kids-ears-at-tattoo-shop/ Tattoo Shops in Astoria that have piercing (that I could find): https://stayonpoint.net/piercings/ http://www.alejandrasbrows.com/service (The Artitude Shop) https://jaguar-ink.business.site/

Do you have to be a certain age to get pierced at Claire's? Or just personal preference?

Just get a thumb tack and some paper towels

I recently had to get a hole re-pierced. I went to that jeweler on 31 st between Ditmars & 23 rd, near Mike's Diner. It cost me about $30, which was the cost of the piercing stud.

[Dorje Adornments](http://www.dorjeadornments.com/) My girlfriend, my sister, and I have been going to Nick and Bonnie for many years for all our piercings. Very clean, good atmosphere, and an amazing selection of jewelry. They have some very high end jewelry there as well if that's your cup of tea. If you are looking for awesome jewelry check out [Heart on Sleeve Jewelry](http://heartonsleevejewelry.com/) as well. He is local and will do custom work, everything from 16 g all the way up to 3 in.

[primitive impressions](http://www.primitiveimpressions.com/store/) in village gate - clean and the jewelry is custom-made

This was already stated below but Nick and Bonnie at Dorje would be the best place to go for piercings and selection for jewlery and Mark over at Heart on Sleeve makes some amazing stone, metal and wood pieces and will take custom orders. He always seems to be up for something new in that he made my girlfriend brontosaurus earrings and a three piece legend of zelda triforce necklace.

I got mine at Icon. Nice little place, very professional, quick and easy. Not too expensive either. Haven't gotten any other piercings, so I'm no expert :P
