Hi, I'm in Plano. Friend me if you like! My daughter has Smith Lemli Opitz Syndrome. Our PCP is Dr. Virginia Menchaca. She's amazing! We hear Dr. Russo is good for GI, Dr. Gelfand for pulmo. Dr. Kadesky for surgery, Dr. Waber for Metabolic Genetic Clinic (at children's dallas!), and Encompass Pediatric for home health. Dynamic Therapy for therapy. I hope to get to meet you! Come join www.facebook.com/groups/HopesSeed for more friends.
Emily M. replied:
Dr. Stager Jr for ophthalmology. Dr. Lefler made me bawl and nearly rip my baby's g tube out because of his bedside manner.
Jennifer F. replied:
We use children's for everything. Dr Susan Arnold for neurology. We have also used Dr So but like Dr Arnold now that our child's case is known to be more severe and rare. Also have seen dr Pascual. Our pulmonologist is dr Stephen copenhaver. He is great!
Julie W. replied:
Doctor Mary Ham at children's for genetics and metabolic. The cardiology team at children's is great as well. Be very picky as far as your GI doc at children's as we have not had great luck. We use a home health therapy service, but in a different city.
Stacy M. replied:
Medical city Dallas Hospital. We see Dr richard silver & associates in the pediatric pulmonary associates of north Texas. They are amazing. They will get you to the other Drs as far as recommendations. We've seen them 19 years, and they even treat me. Dr Darrell Hermann is phenomenal for a surgeon- hes one of the best. We see Dr Quan for nephrology, Dr Penn Laird cardiology, Dr suez immunology ( hes in irving), Dr William Strand urology - in plano medical center, Dr Robert Chudnow neurology in plano . For pediatric gi, and genetics,we went to Houston. We also have several other Drs there. Mitochondrial, cardiology, movement disorder neurologist, sleep specialist, dr perrin white endocrine at chidrens. We see Dr sklar for neurosurgery at medical city. They have every speciality you would need! And the best part is its closets to Plano. Childrens (unlessyou go to chidrens legacy) cooks, etc are such a drive. Its nice to be less than 20 minutes from the hospital, especially for an emergency. Use walgreens home health. Ask to speak to Michael Sneath- he does care coordination, and will take care of you.
Tracie L. replied:
Urology- Micah Jacobs (Children's Plano), our PCP is through Forest Lane Pediatrics@Plano Presbyterian, but they have a second office out of Medical City if you ever need to make trips there for other specialty docs.
Kira A. replied:
We see Dr. Mauricio Delgado at Tx Scottish Rite for nuerology. Dr. Barth for GI at Children's Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Valerie Burton in Dallas for Developmental Pediatrician (we love her!!)

We see Dr Sathe for GI at Children's Plano. I have 3 kids we have seen a lot of ppl there. Dr. Vertillus for Cardiologist, Dr Ho for ortho. We see pain management, neuro, endo, and immunology (allergy). As far as home health agencies I have worked for a few currently at Epic health services. My daughter is also on service with them. I have worked with Pediatric Home Health, Viva, Vigorecare. Only have nursing through Angels of Care and Epic.
Gwendolyn W. replied:
Whatever you do, see Michael Russo for GI- a few other people here have recommended him. He has done more for my son that any other doctor ever has, even reaching across his field to try to figure out my son's undiagnosed condition. I have never met a better doctor. His bedside manner is amazing, and because of him, my son LOVES going to the doctor. He asks me to go all the time. My pediatrician is Dr. Karam, and he's also amazing. He will spend an hour with you answering questions if need be. He never rushes, and he covers all bases.
Kristen M. replied:
Angles of care for home health Star Medical for DME (we've been with them 6 years and they are soo accommodating) I'm clueless in docs bc we've exhausted on resources in the Childrens hospitals in Dallas and Plano can't find a decent pcp or neuro or gi But cooks ft worth neuro is where all my daughter brain surgeries took place and they have a great team if you wanting conventional treatment Best of luck!
Gwendolyn W. replied:
Also, Dr. Renard is the only surgeon we will let touch our son after a bad experience when his g-tube fell out while out of town. After 2 different ERs and countless doctors torturing my son trying to reinsert it, we finally put a foley cath in to hold it open and drove back to Dallas. Renard got us in right away, used numbing gel, and popped it back in in 3 seconds flat with no tears. He was also the one that originally put it in- seamlessly. We use him for all our surgical needs now.
Angela T. replied:
I'm sure Children's Medical Center can provide all those doctors and services for you. But they don't have private duty nursing only skilled nursing.
Lisa W. replied:
We see Dr Gerald So for pediatric neurology, Dr Thomas Black for gtube surgery, Dr Kenneth Brown for GI, Dr Grace Pecson for PCP (former Dr of OCH and highly knowledgeable re: feeding issues)...

If you can email icamail@ichelp.org we can let you know who has agreed to be on our list. Also please let us know who the bad uros were and you have the right to file a complaint to your insurance company and the NY Dept of Health about the doctors who mistreated you. Uracyst was in clinical trials in the us but failed to work so the pharma company stopped pursuing FDA approval
Alice B. replied:
I looked at both---I apologize. But stay away from these doctors. David Kaufman also does a LOT of advertising on the internet.

Does anyone know a good urologist preferably on the North Shore
Theo D. replied:
I took my mother to the office of Dr. Jay Basilote on South Ave. She preferred a woman, so she was seen by Nurse Practitioner Linda Barron. I was deeply impressed by her manner and her thorough explanations. Dr. Basilote has good reviews online, and could be consulted by the NP if his expertise is needed, or you could see him directly, but I had no experience with him. NP Barron impressed me as highly skilled and probably sufficient for most urological issues.
Marietta C. replied:
My dad used Dr. Miranda and liked him very much.
