No clue for recommendations but Blue Cross has directories for their doctor network http://directory.horizonblue.com/physicians/find-a-physician-in-new-jersey For {Specialty} check the 4 th box (All PCPs) GPs are commonly referred to as Primary Care Provider now. You can enter your mom's particular plan in the 4 th box. if you enter a zip cod you can set it to checking particular parts of town. It will list the gender of the Dr.

Thank you for your help everyone, I ended up taking my mom to Dr. Muhammad Abdullah on 239 Lafayette St. in Newark.
