If you're willing to drive a bit, Crocodile Kids Preschool in Beaverton is amazing. My child was potty trained within two weeks of starting. At nineteen months! Learned to write his name by 30 months and can read now, solo most books up to grade 2. Tell ERICKA Jamison sent you. Read the reviews on Yelp.

I liked Newberg Christian as well. We had three kids that went through there.

Another vote for Wee Care. My oldest thrived there, and my youngest will be in the Pre-K class there this year. Great staff, very small class sizes, just an all around amazing experience for your kiddos.

Jesi Payne does Life is Good Preschool. Two of my kids have been with her and we love it! Sarah Crozier is also a great one. Lots of friends have gone to her. That one is called Mi Escuelita Bilingual Preschool. I know both of them are normally filled by now but it's definitely worth looking into or to get onto a waiting list.

Wee Care is also offering a four day Pre-K class this year, I think it will help better prepare for them to be gone five days next year. It truly is an amazing school

Wee Care is great if you feel your 5 year old isn't ready for kindergarten. I know their PM class (12:30-3:30 ish) is nice and small if you prefer a smaller class size and I know they have spots open. Structured, not strict. Great, caring teachers and administration.

Both of my daughters attended Wee Care Christian Preschool and we absolutely LOVED that school! Amazing and caring/nurturing staff, and it's kinda sad that my kids are all grown and won't be there anymore. ;-) They have a 3 day program for the 3's class that is Tues-Thurs in the AM. For the 4's/Pre-K they have a 3 or 4 day AM class that is Tues-Thurs or Tues-Fri and if there is enough need they have a 3 day PM class as well. It's a really great school, my girls learned so much there, not just on an educational level, but on a social level as well.

I am sure there are other nice places in town, but we Love Wee Care!

Head Start in Newberg for free for families that qualify though sometimes there is a waiting list. I noticed you said he's got a bit of energy:). I know first hand that last year head start hired a behavior coach to come in and work alongside teachers to help them develope skills to work with children who "require a higher level of support". Best of luck finding a preschool. I am seeing more and more public school systems developing their own preschool programs because they see the value in early education!
Ava M. replied:
Both of my girls have gone to Bonnie Benedict. My oldest has severe ADHD; Deanna Rice and Jan Kester (who has since retired) did a wonderful job of working with her. They gave her an environment that was safe for her to explore with firm, respectful boundaries. She started kindergarten as ready as she could be.
