Hello future neighbors! We're moving there in July and I've seen a few people post that they are moving to the area soon, so I thought it might be helpful for some of us...

I love, love, love my hairdresser: Cami Ewing at Revolutions Spa in Carlsbad. We actually just got AT&T u-verse so it has come at least to our part of the hood. It's $40/month cheaper than Cox. I second the Flying Pig for best area restaurant. 333 is also good for a date night (a little pricey, but good). Since I know you're military you can also look into the sports on base. We chose to go out in town and have been happy with Breakers soccer and Oceanside Valley Little League, but know others happy with base sports.

X3 Flying Pig. Keep it simple....it's not a SteakHouse., but even the starters/sides can be meals

Talk to Bryan Harper at Team Quest for MMA (kids and adults). 760-722-3127. Oceanside Valley Little League is local and good for little ones, oceansidevalleyll.com. Season starts in February. If you need babysitters after you get here PM me.

Thank you Kim, Cecilia, and Lawrence! So glad to hear about AT&T Uverse
Trey W. replied:
The Flying Pig Pub & Kitchen is a MUST. We also love Killer Pizza From Mars Oceanside. Fratelli's Oceanside usually carries local brews and they have some great pasta.

I was able to confirm AT&T U-verse is available! So much less expensive and all the same features (and more)
Danielle C. replied:
We use Dipity dog, love them. (760) 439-3313. YMCA is (760) 758-0808, not the cheapest gym around, but it's nice. Soccer is oceansidebreakers.org, they are registering now for the fall. T ball is Oceanside Valley Little League, I believe T-ball is only in the spring though.
Trey W. replied:
Wendy Miller Jones we had UVerse at our old place when it first came out. It was much cheaper and a great improvement over our existing internet. When we moved in a year ago, UVerse wasn't available, so we went with Cox (crazy expensive IMO), but the speeds are the high and it's been very reliable. I'm a remote employee too so reliability and speed are a must.
