Can anyone recommend a good dog trainer for a good price? I need a decent dog trainer for a reasonable price; I live near Highland Park. Any suggestions? Would like to...

Chris at elite dog training is awesome. He comes to you at your house to train and he gives you a quote for free as to what he thinks it'll take to get your dog to where youwant it. Plus you get lifetime group classes and if you're not satisfied he refunds your money.

Depends on what your philosophy about dog training is. There is a non-profit group that has classes for you to train your dog that is probably the most economical alternative. Fairly old school and traditional in method though, so maybe not everyone's preference (i.e. no clickers, no positive re-enforcement only/radical behaviorist approaches, etc). Very committed to making obedience training accessible though, particularly concerned with making adoptions a success. Steep discounts for rescue dogs (or they used to). Radically accepting of pretty much all dogs- no breed snobbery or prejudice whatsoever.
I think their classes are at flag pole hill on a certain night of the week. Here is the info:

My dog was trained by Man's Best Friend. They weren't cheap but they did a damn good job. They spend lots of time with your dog as it is boarded for a good 2 weeks. They have other programs too but they say boarding your dog is really the best for your money since they need lots of training and not everyone has the time to go back and forth to the place for training. They have advanced programs for training your dog to become a retriever type or a guard dog. My dog responds very well to commands, doesn't bark indiscriminately (especially inside), heels on runs and walks, doesn't jump as much as she use to.
Anyway, it really comes down to what it's worth to you. Here's their website.

Does anyone in the State College area know of a dog trainer they would recommend? I was contacted by someone looking to find a trainer for his daughter's 9 month old...
