By "reasonable price," you mean...?

A few of my friends love Tinted Edge on Cumberland for the reasons you just mentioned. I don't have any names, unfortunately.

Hair Essentials on Bank St. I'm picky as well. I just got my ends trim, layered and side bangs and they did a good job. It's $35 for a wash and cut, so after tax and tip it was under $50. I still find it a little expensive (considering I pay 35$ total back home), but compared to the last time I got my hair trimmed in Ottawa for $80 before tip, this was a steal.

Go to the Loft Academy on Elgin. They have ridiculously cheap prices because the students are learning. They have teachers watching them as they work so you won't end up with a bad hair cut.

"Reasonable" varies for everyone. But as someone with long hair (by long I mean waist length, and that's short compared to how long it used to be) who has the same fears, I've found Tiffany at Joseph's (Rideau) great to work with. Her prices aren't what most people would consider reasonable though - I pay $80 for a cut/style. Then again, I only have to go once or twice a year so it's not like I'm spending a lot per year.
