Does anyone here know of any good vegan restaurants in the LA or SFV area? I've noticed that a lot of fellow TZM members are vegans, and lately I've become more and more...

Im not a vegan myself, but I have noticed the health benefits of having a greater portion of my diet (70-80%, give or take) consist of raw vegetables and fruits. There are benefits to cooking certain foods still. Renegade Health is a great source for well-informed healthy diet advice. Here's a recent article of theirs: http://renegadehealth.com/blog/deathofraw If your looking for some good documentaries, I've seen a couple of these and they definitely give you a larger perspective on the modern food industry: http://joanlandinosays.com/documentaries-that-inspire.../ Veggie Grill? I've been there three times since I've moved here. Their food is decent, but there always tends to be sauces and dressings that are high in fats and sugars lurking in some of the dishes of restaurant menus, so you have to pick and choose what you eat at restaurants these days. Of course, your brain needs certain omega 3 and other fats and your body needs certain sugars. So I guess it's good advice to stay away from extreme EXCESS of anything. My advice is do lots of research, and do what works for you personally. There's a lot of claims out there about what the perfect diet is, but the fact is that everyone is different. Variety in food choices is consistently best, as long as that variety covers many different types of nutrients. It's a large and tedious task, figuring out what diet works best for you, but it's worth it in the end I think. smile emoticon
