From what I've seen .... a good mechanic is super busy. If I tell you then I'll never be able to get my car fixed quickly. LOL I use Nick's Sunoco across from D&D Shell on RT2 E.G. and Carl at Belleville Auto. Depends on which has an opening & if it's our car or truck that needs work. Both are fair & have helped me a lot. https://www.facebook.com/Belleville-Auto-Repair-811214659005073/ https://www.facebook.com/pages/East-Greenwich-Sunoco/167077503308787

David T. replied:
I used Quonset Autobody way back in the 70 s ...then I stopped hitting stone walls.
Karen K. replied:
Mike's Auto body did a beautiful total paint job on my car. I recommend against Quonset Auto body. I took my car in there to get some metal work done which required temporarily removing a seat, and they apparently forced the seat back in on top of the seat belt holder, breaking the hard plastic retracting holder for the belt, for which no replacement is available, Now every time I use the seat belt I have to avoid the jagged edge of the holder. Okay, accidents happen, but they insisted the car had been that way when I bought it in and so they do not stand behind their work. It was the holder on the outside of the driver's seat, so it was completely impossible that (1) i could have not noticed it, and (2) that it spontaneously broke by itself.
Beth G. replied:
Myself and my family have always used Quonset Auto Body and have been very satisfied!

I swear by Tommy at: Rossi's Auto Care 771 Nooseneck Hill Road, West Greenwich, RI 02817 401-397-6400 Very trustworthy, and won't suggest anything that doesn't need to be done. Right on route 3 in the WG/Coventry area, easy to get to.
Matt Miner in Exeter/West Greenwich who specializes in Subaru work.. Stay away from Sampson’s especially with a Subaru. I can tell you multiple bad experiences there.

Bethany G. replied:
We have had good luck with South County motors, we have an older Legacy wagon, they are not the best at calling you when the car is ready, but they don't do work just for the paycheck. For example, they found a part that needed replacement but warned that if they took apart the engine to replace the part it might cause more problems than it fixed and recommended we didn't fix it. https://www.facebook.com/South-County-Motors-154495917921121/
I feel like I read a post about recommendations for a mechanic recently, but now can't find it. I apologize for the repeat request, but would really appreciate help...

Irving Wickford Service on Boston Neck Road. Dan and his crew have been servicing our limo fleet for 12 years!
I've found that Mulzer's Car Care does good work at a reasonable price. They are a mile south of Wickford on Boston Neck Road (Rt. 1A). 295-7040. Is that Saab dying?
John M. replied:
This post asked for a recommendation, not a case history. But in a nutshell, ...I have an old heap of a truck that doubles in value when I fill it with gas...But its mine and still runs great. Anthony at Post Rd Service has given me break after break as to being honest as far as only fixing what is needed to keep it safe...And being just as honest as to what can "go for now" since I work from home and don't drive much at all anymore.. I've been going there for 10 years...Highly recommended...How's that for details...

I have been to or have family members that have been to most of the "mechanics" in NK. After being swindled by a lot of them, I go to Quonset Auto Body, and my in-laws go to Roberts, both seem fair and reasonable, reliable and trustworthy. I would recommend staying away from anyone else.
Anyone have any recommendations for a great mechanic who does work on the side? Have a ford with an engine misfire and getting the typical runaround from repair shops...
I would like to give a shout out to Robert's Automotive on Post Rd. He dropped me off and picked me up. Fixed my car same day, very fair price.I definitely recommend him...
