a Thoroughbred tattoo Starts with a Letter a AQHA tattoo ends with a letter, that is how you can tell them apart, a standardbred has 1 letter then 4 numbers........Examples --- TB: K02317(a letter followed by 5 numbers); QH:3532C ( 4 to 5 numbers followed by a letter ) ; ;Standardbred:J3345 ( a letter followed by 4 numbers) ........... ***Some TB tattoos have 4 numbers but that indicates that the horse is over 25 years old**........
