Anyone worked with a good credit repair lawyer? I have "parked" debt that I know was paid off with other collection agencies, but keeps reappearing.
Chris H. replied:
the best way is keep disputing the debt directly with the three credit agencies...Equifax.com ...Experian.com.... and Transunion.com...once they remove it its unlikely to reappear.
Chris H. replied:
OK..but I dont think you understand the cost involved...also try www.debtbulldog.com as for lawyers probably none in oak ridge...maybe one of the bankruptcy lawyers would help.
Chris H. replied:
yes, but a lawyer will simply do the same thing by contacting the reporting agencies...and can be very expensive. I would try Lexingtonlaw.com they do specialize...but I would still try to do the disputes.
Sassie L. replied:
Lexington law want a $100 a month for 12 months. No freaking way!
Chris H. replied:
I simply done my disputes directly with the reporting agancies you have the right to dispute every 30 days...the thing is a few years ago the laws changed and make it more difficult to remove negative items..they can stay 7 years, or if you file bankruptcy its all removed and bankruptcy stays 7 years...its expensive because its time consuming...I have a friend that had to pay 6000.00 to get a "bad' bank card debt removed..It took him 2 years after the lawyer. Lexington law guartees the results so thats still your best bet.\
Does anyone know a lawyer that can give free legal advise, this deals with a divorce I'm doing on my own. Thanks

If you are a member of Y12 Federal Credit Union you can get a free 30 minute consultation with our on site attorney. You have to make an appointment. We offer all services you would traditionally think of for a bank. A $5 membership share is all that's required. We would love to hook you you with a free consultation AND tell you about the awsome products and services we offer. Call Allison (me) at 482-1043. I would be glad to help you with all your financial needs.

Amber, if there are no children and no property involved Tennessee has a do it yourself divorce on line at the Tennessee.gov website. All counties must take the completed forms.(nine pages or so). They must be signed by both parties in front of a notary. The filling fee in Anderson County is $134 which you will have to pay and maybe additional court costs. If there are children under 18 the process is way complicated cause you have to have parenting plans and usually classes for both parents. Some lawyers will consult --even on the phone-- for free. Expect to pay two thousand or more to a lawyer depending on circumstances. Good Luck.

I thought you were talking about Kenton Young until you said she...had to move out of one of his nasty apartments years ago because of bugs, mold, filth, electrical, floor caving in kitchen and bathroom and the neighbors next door cooking meth and leaving their dirty needles in the yard for my baby to find were the last straw...unfortunately I lost over $1000 in that move because we did not get our deposits back even though I cleaned that filthy apartment when we moved in after he claimed he had it cleaned. I even had to move out the last tenants stuff and take it to the dump before we could move ours in. Funny how he owns a lot of property too.

Call the Knoxville Bar Association and ask if they have someone who can do a small pro bono work. I did this when I had a probate question when my Mom died.
