Not Envy nail bar! I went on Saturday for a pedicure. They are very friendly but didn't do a thorough job. Part of my nails didnt even get painted and the other nails have a uneven paint job where it's globbed up in sections. I think they felt rushed. We had a party of 3 and had called a few days before to make an appointment. They only had 2 technicians working on a Saturday! After we came in they wound up having 4 more people come in waiting. I understand wanting to get to your customers quickly but if your rushing through and do a bad job you won't have return customers. I was told next time to check out nail pro or Manhattan nails. So the 3 of us will give them a try next time.

5 th Ave Nail Spa on Briarcliff Ave. Clean and very reasonable!
Diane L. replied:
If cleanliness is your main concern go to Tennessee School of Beauty on O.R. Hwy/Western Avenue. It's a school so they have to keep up to health standards. Their equipment is sterilized between uses. Items that can't be sanitized are thrown away after use. Flexible files are opened new for each customer and given to you. Don't let anyone use pumice that's been used on someone else. It's just gross when you think about dead skin from previous clients going into your skin. They are cheaper than most salons, too. They have plenty of experience before they are allowed to give manicures and pedicures to the public and they know they are being watched. If you haven't watched the 20/20 special on nail salons, you should.

Diane I do not wear a mask unless I've been sick or my asthma kicks in cuz I hate the feel of breathing on myself. Lol But I can tell you after 17 almost 18 years of doing nails the dust is not good for us to breathe in all day everyday. I have asthma and severe allergies that I developed late in life and doctors say it could be stemmed from my job and not protecting my lungs! Just saying. Please don't judge if you don't know for sure. My salon uses Creative Nail Design Retention Liquid and Creative Nail Design Powder. Some of our employees wear a mask so they aren't breathing it in all day and honestly I should! Any nail tech should! I used to manage a beauty college and was an instructor and in college I recommended my students wear a mask.

Hugh at LA Nails off cedar bluff. Been going 8+ years. Hands down the BEST I have ever had. I've broken down and went to places in Oak Ridge when I've been in a time crunch and they never have been up to my standards. Hugh is my favorite but all the techs at LA Nails does phenomenal work.

i go to nancy at Bella Regazza Nail Spa in turkey creek- beside earth fare. i get the SNS dipping powder and love it. she doesnt layer the powder on really thick and she will listen to how to want them done.

Vina Nails in West Knoxville. Ho does my nails. Been going to him for almost 4 years now. I, too, was not satisfied with a lot of places locally. I get the gel polish and love it.
Machelle B. replied:
Amy, I'm picky as well. I go to Manhattan Nails and they have never done me wrong. I choose to get the dipping powder due to they can apply it thinly without the thickness you get with acrylic. They can apply a tip and still do the powder. You would just need to tell them to apply thinly. I look forward to seeing you Friday.
