Looking for a homeopathic vet in the Twin Cities. Can anyone help?
Lana T. replied:
Try Dr. Cathy at Lake Harriet Vet. I searched for a vet that would work with me and my belief that we are over-vaccinating our pets and would be straight with me about what our puppy/dog actually needed vs. what the typical protocol has been. She is WONNNNNNNDERFUL and I don't hesitate to refer anyone to her. Make sure your friend specifically asks to see Dr. Cathy. There are other vets in the clinic who don't have a homeopathic philosophy. Also....she has a pibble which is like extra frosting on an already great cake!

http://holistic-vet-care.com/ Dr. Levy
Kim W. replied:
DR Levy has worked with Kristin to reduce/eliminate seizures, control IBD, eliminate prednesone for a dog with autoimmune issues......just to name a few. I've been pretty amazed by some of the results and I was a believer before!
Kristin W. replied:
Yes, Dr. Levy is fantastic. EJ (my dog) was suffering with IBD, screaming pain and bloody stools every day, and he is now a "regular dog." Katie was a foster who had severe autoimmune issues including protein losing enteropathy and IBD, and over the course of a year, she went from a dog with a poor prognosis on high-dose prednisone, to a dog who is stable and weaned entirely off prednisone. Kira is another foster who came in having grand mal seizures every 3-5 days, and now has seizures approx 1 x/month. Dr. Levy will work with anyone, but prefers that her patients be on a species-appropriate diet (raw food), since it's an uphill battle if the client is on kibble, canned, or cooked food.

Does anyone have a recommendation on an absolutely top notch avian veterinarian in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area? One that is at the top of their professions...
Conure C. replied:
There was a reference to Dr. Schulz under their quarantine procedures. Looks like Dr. Blair is a good bet. Thanks so much, Laura Lewis!
Laura L. replied:
For your Sun Jennifer? Beautiful little one. I have a love for Conures... If Dr. Blair isn't taking new patients.. I have a good friend who uses her colleague Dr. Roser... And is thrilled with him. I never met him, but allot says he looks like a teen. If you go there, don't let that phase you! Lol:-)
Laura L. replied:
St. Francis in Roseville, Dr. Blair and Dr. Rosser (spelling) and also South Hyland in Bloomington, Dr. Vicki Shultz
Conure C. replied:
Thank you, Laura Lewis. I see Dr. Schulz is the MAARS vet based on what I saw on their website. I will pass this info along.
Laura L. replied:
Dr. Jennifer Blair is really good too! I would not recommend Como... This is from personal experience with my Umbrella Cockatoo and my Dusky Conure.
Laura L. replied:
Oh, I see... I saw Vicki, Jaimie is the ongoing vet at MAARS, I believe.
I'm looking for a dog groomer, does anyone know someone local? We need Jack's hair cut and the next opening for the groomer at the vet in Oakdale isn't until June...
