Megan Matheny, GOOD FOR YOU for jumping right on this. Aggression towards anything/one always requires Professional Intervention IMO, but lots of owners don't take it seriously in mild/early stages. Your V will be much the better for it. The organization from which you adopted the dog should also be able to help support you, too. Best wishes.
