Who has found success in overcoming addiction? What methods did you use? Ex: meditation, chakra clearing, acupuncture.... Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Carol Stevens for smoking I tried to pace myself. Don't have one the second the urge hit. Go when YOU decide not when the craving hits. Mind over matter sometimes. I went three days without smokes purely by choice. If you want to bad enough it can happ en. I believe anyone can fight what their ego demands. My question was posed for my husband. He believes all the things this group is about but he has been an addict his whole life. No serious drugs or anything but alcohol, smokes and now tylenol(codeine). He wants to quit but he struggles with his spiritual self and feels the need to use, to numb it.

Carol Stevens Had another thought before I go to bed. Mindfulness smoking. be mindful from the moment you want to have a cigarette What trigger it. Can you stop yourself from reaching for the package? How long can you wait till you reach for that package? How long can you hold the package before opening the package of cigarettes. Can you stop yourself from opening the package? And so on. This was a mindful practice I did, and I came to realize I didn't like smoking at all. Try watching yourself in a mirror smoking.
