Hello Everyone. Here is a brief housing update for those looking for rentals in the aftermath of Sandy. 1. I am still awaiting a return call or email from the Governor's office regarding the proposal which I sent up this past week to open up Fort Monmouth to those who are currently homeless due to the storm. I will keep you posted as to any responses. 2. A few of us local Realtors have been speaking. As a result, I contacted Don Willis, the executive director of the Monmouth County Association of Realtors today. We spoke and I also sent him a follow up email. The idea is to have the MLS send out a message to all realtors asking for any available rentals (regular rentals, short sales, new homes, adult communities and so on). Then the list can be posted to all agents WITH a notat ion of the minimum time frame that the homeowner will allow for a lease. This will save the agents time in making these calls so we can better serve everyone. I will keep you posted as to the plan that they put in place so we can move forward to get people into homes asap!! Stay safe and God bless you all! Mike
