I have friends in town who want to go out and eat and not drive. What taxi service do you recommend? How much do cabs cost here in the valley?
Alisa S. replied:
Dutch Vanhemert but I think he only works the weekends
Joy W. replied:
The Ojai Trolley has different routes through town and to Meiners Oaks, etc. Check the city of Ojai site for times & routes.

I use Topa Topa Taxi if there aren't any available Uber drivers. I don't really take taxis anywhere else so I can't compare against that but it is more expensive than Uber for just around town. I think from Barbara street in Mira Monte to downtown it's about $15-$18 not including tip. But I'm sure if you give them a call they can provide the actual rate/mile. (805) 312-2288

I would try Lyn Summers to check her availability: 646-2262 or cell 657-2262...
Hi. Whats the best car service to use from LAX to Ojai? I dont mind a ride-share company, private service is fine too.... but SB Airbus doesn't stop in/near Ventura....

Dutch Vanhemert

Smart Shuttle, $75/first person, $10/each additional person. One way to LAX and door to door service. They are the best! http://www.smartshuttle805.com/
I'm looking for a shuttle service to LAX. Recommendations?
Katie A. replied:
Lyn Summer does this.

Wendy Stroud has a service!

Yet another inquiry on how to get to LAX from Ojai. It's been going on for...years. If I see one more I'm gonna shoot myself in the head. (I know: No tears will follow. I get that.) It's not that hard! Check the Yellow Pages! ("Airport Shuttle" is good.) Make your best friend drive you there and then, afterward, pick you up. It's not that hard!

Lyn S. replied:
Road Runner does door-to-door (Ojai to and from LAX), with stops along the way to pick up and drop off other passengers. The Airporter picks up and returns to Ventura and is the cheapest; however, you will have to follow their schedule, and they don't operate 24/7. There are three highly regarded and established "Ladies Who Drive" in Ojai - we all operate independently 24/7 (by prior reservation) and will provide you with a comfortable ride to and from the airports (LAX, BUR, SBA), with no stops in between for other passengers. Those ladies are: Wendy Stroud, Judy K Nelson and my humble self, Lyn Summer, otherwise known as The Queen of The Road. I will PM you Caroline Lieber.
Greetings Ojai folk. I know this is an extreme longshot, but is anyone by chance returning from LAX tomorrow, Friday night that would like to have an extra passenger...

Ca' Marco has incredible food - but they went back to serving veal. Please tell them you won't eat there. Ask them to leave veal off the menu - they will if enough people ask. They did once before...until someone asked for it. Someone who has no idea what "veal" really is.
Hi OCN! We tried Ojai Food Taxi tonight and *loved it*. Any recommendations on the lunch/dinner restaurants which transported best and were yummy after delivery?
Any good ways to get a person from SB airport to Ojai? I know Topa Topa Taxi will do it for $90, but I'm hoping to find something a bit more reasonable.
Hi Folks I need a ride home To Mira Monte from Ventura on Monday morning the 8th, at 8:30. Anyone doing private car service? Joy is busy. I know about Uber but thought...
