Do any of my (34) friends have hotel recommendations for Washington DC?
James G. replied:
I don't know of a specific place to rec, but I used the https://www.twitter.com/hoteltonight app in # nyc and got a great deal. You can book a week out.

Holiday Inn downtown has a large slide (tube that goes out of the building) as well as a play set that is covered in water spraying toys and has areas that water sqirts out. If I remember correctly, the play set is not actully IN water, which may work great with your two year old. It also has a smaller pool and a hot tub (I think...it's been awhile). We stayed on a Friday night, and they made a very big deal out of being respectful of other guests, regarding noise and such. I complained the next morning (and during the evening) at check out because I did not feel very respected when they hosted a wedding reception what felt like directly under our room.

Ashley O. replied:
Embassy Suits in downtown is awesome. That's where my family always stays when they come in town.
Jessica K. replied:
Courtyard Marriott is close to downtown and WAY more affordable than Embassy.
Jessica K. replied:
The Hilton Garden Inn is right across the street from the courtyard mariott and was pretty compareable in price but I haven't stayed at the Hilton before. The Courtyard Mariott was very nice.
Who is running the Des Moines Marathon this year, and where would you recommend staying as far as hotels? Something with a shuttle service would be so so so choice...
Kayleen J. replied:
There are quite a few parking garages near the finish line with free parking. I've never had a problem finding a spot but it is has always been about 3-4 blocks from the finish. I believe the Holiday Inn Express near Mercy hospital had a shuttle and also Hampton Inn Airport did as well but I recall hours were limited. It's a great event... Have a blast!
We in there boys. I'm very likely going to Nexus.
Because of age restrictions and the like, I need to know if anybody has a spot for another in a hotel room or if I can...
