Tracy asks:
Any dermatologists in the area who will help me figure out what's causing the eczema in my 4 month old and 4 year old?? Pedi just prescribed steroid cream...
Sara F. replied:
The eczema may be telling you your baby is reacting to something you are eating (if you are breastfeeding). In that case, I would recommend Dr. Leeper at MilkWorks in Lincoln. http://milkworks.org/
Jenny R. replied:
Yep, I have had multiple friends who used Johnson and Johnson or some similar brand who switched to using Arbonne products and it cured their eczema.
Julia W. replied:
Dr Jill Nelson at dermatology specialists of Omaha! My daughter had it bad and she's amazing! She is one of only a few pedi dermatologists in the country!!!

Elle Asks: "Anyone know of a spa/salon in Omaha that uses nontoxic/green products? Seriously needing a pedicure, but I don't want to put up with the nauseating smells."...
Lori C. replied:
The Nail Shop, which Denise just mentioned, is awesome. They use SpaRitual professional products and they are high quality. There were only two pedicure chairs when I visited last year when I was still pregnant so don't plan on taking a party there. The nail techs are really good and the pedicure was very relaxing. And I work in a competing spa...

Looking for a new pediatrician/ OBGYN. I see the last post about Dr. Wilwerding and i will be looking into her but i am looking for a pediatrician that isnt...
Amber P. replied:
We see Dr. Lisa Whitcomb and love her. She is very open to natural methods and alternate/non-vaxing families and is very knowledgable about breastfeeding. I would recommend a midwife over an OB/GYN if you are looking for a provider open to natural treatments. There are midwives at Methodist Women's Hospital, University of Neb Med Center (The Olson Center) and The Midwife's Place in Bellevue. You could also consider LifeCare Family Medicine in Bellevue. Dr. Finley and Dr. Larsen are both family physicians and also do OB/GYN.
Nicola D. replied:
I would say a Chiropractor and Midwife. My hubby and I have 4 children. He is a chiropractor that works around or with Insurance. Our youngest is 10 months and saw Laura Wilwerding 1 time after delivery after she was born just because. My 3 year old has only seen a Ped 1 time in 2 years just because again. Other than that my husband@Indeed Chiropractic 402-637-6715 sees all of our kids and tons more from other patients! Laura is great with BFing and is open. Heather Ramsey for a midwife. Kent Plummer is certified and a Child Cert.
Julie S. replied:
We see Dr. Wilwerding. She has been great! I also LOVE my OB. Dr. Burke. She actually suggested I see a chiropractor. We do see a chiropractor too. We go to Koca Chiropractic Clinic off 120 th Blondo. Fantastic group of people!!!

Rupp Chiropractic & Advanced Nutrition Dr. Mallory is a Chiropractic Internist and is wonderful. For a Ped we really like Dr. Wilwerding. ~Amanda

@alycia smock schuler ~ I recommend you looking into herbalists in town such as those at Land of Milk&Honey Herb of the Month Club or Four Winds Natural Healing Center. We see Kate Bodmann and employ her herb of the month club and are delighted at the positive changes we have seen in our health, both mental and physical, in the last 6+ months!!!
Jana M. replied:
We use Dr. Finley for our whole family for all things medical, but mostly we use preventative care: Essentials Chiropractic, Four Winds, Land of Milk and Honey's herb of the month, and what I'm learning in my herb classes. We rarely need to go in to the doctor.
Chelsea asks: Can anyone recommend a pediatric dentist that won't push fluoride? We see Dr. Whitcomb as our pedi and plan to ask her at our appt on 11/30, but I...
Alicia W. replied:
We see Dr Hohenstein. He's a pedi dentist and wonderful but I don't know his stance on fluoride. He's pretty laid back and not pushy with anything that I've seen so I'd bet he'd be ok with skipping it:)
Melissa S. replied:
Our whole family goes to Dr Amber Allen. She is so sweet and very laid back. She does not push anything and i've talked to her about our beliefs with natural products and she is always supportive. She is off 147 th/Maple. Very pretty office too.
Melissa S. replied:
p.s. Dr Whitcomb rocks!!! She is our ped too.:-)
Niki P. replied:
James B. Lewer, DDS. He ROCKS. They don't use flouride on anyone. They also safely remove mercury fillings.
Sarah M. replied:
I work for Dr. Strevey and if you tell him no fluoride he will respect that.
Omaha P. replied:
Jessica Clem-Close and JayCe N Mike Minarik heres information on why fluoride is bad for you. http://www.drmomma.org/2009/11/fluoride-cavity-fighter-or-toxic.html ~Katie
Melissa M. replied:
I go to Dr Phil Strevey for myself (no kids yet) but he is a family dentist and he knows how I feel about flouride and hasn't pushed it on me ever.
Meridith F. replied:
Dr. Bennet at Papillion Pediatric Dentistry. It is hard to get in for appointments, but they are amazing!
Courtney says: Thanks for all the recommendations for Dr Finley as a pedi...I finally got comfortable to switch from ours, and come to find out Finley isn't in network...
Katrina J. replied:
Michael Moore is in Dundee but he is really good. I see Loucks in the same office but she is a she.
Omaha P. replied:
Look up Dr. Brown at Alegent of Bellevue. Not sure if its a male or female. Also, try Dr. Domet at Boys Town Pediatrics (male).
Cari M. replied:
I'm not sure where you're located, but Dr. Laura Wilwerding and Dr. Tina Scott in Plattsmouth are fantastic. I know they are wrong sex and wrong location, but if they are in network for you they may be an option.

We are looking for a holistic pediatrician, or at least a pedi who takes a more natural approach. Also hoping to find someone who will see unvaccinated kids
Can anyone recommend a fun pedicure place that's cheap and not weird? Not needing anything fancy!
Janet R. replied:
A-1 Nails on 84 th and Blondo. Affordable and they do a great job.
Jennifer B. replied:
I go to LaVista Nail Spa (72 nd & Giles) - super clean! Pedi's are $25 and they do the hot towel wrap and hot stone massage on top of the regular massage by hand. They don't charge extra for those services.
