Bats in my attic It looks like I have bats in my attic, does anybody have any recommendations as far as pest control places that are cheap but effective?

The Nebraska Humane Society will come to your house and remove them safely and for free. Don’t fuck with the bats, they can carry rabies.

Do you use the attic? If you don’t block gaps where they could get in the house (mine is a weird walk-in so I put a towel under the door but we’re remodeling right now so they get in anyways). And let them hibernate for the winter. Otherwise you can use thick gloves and put them in a container (where they can breathe) and call NHS and they can pick them up and take them to the bat lady for spring release. Last option is can call pest control and have them get the little guys. Also you will need to close up holes on the outside of your house in the spring (don’t do it when they have babies please)

I had bats in my attic two different times in my life. First, know that bats are a protected species, so it's best to go by the book rather than risking a costly fine. Second, it's the worst possible time of the year to try and get rid of bats. Wait until late spring when it's warmer; the bats will have a better opportunity to survive. Meanwhile, consult with a bat removal company (they can be really expensive!) and/or a competent roofer. It will be very important to identify HOW the bats are entering the attic; this opening will have to be fixed at some point. Some of the bat remediation companies have a waiting list, so start calling around now to get pricing, etc. This can be a very, very frustrating problem - good luck!

Ok when people say tennis racket they say they smack it to kill it. But fun fact when a bat is on the ground they have a really hard time getting up to fly.

We had bats living in our chimney and I spent a lot of time dealing with shady pest control groups. Luckily we found a small business that truly loves bats and they will take care of it responsibly and at a great price. DM me if you want their name.

bats and cheap don't mix. expect to pay a lot if there are byproducts of their dwelling. we used " Genuine Pest Control, 402-300-8168 " cost us $80 for inspection (that also included dead bat removal, it was stuck outside in a trim)

When Professional Termite came out we first tried these granuals, but it didn't get rid of all of them. We used the granuals in the house, but ended up spraying outside.
Nicole asks: Any suggestions for natural/organic pest control services in Omaha? We're looking for an ongoing service to keep the spiders/etc out of our house.
Steve W. replied:
Spiders taste through their feet and hate the taste of peppermint and citrus. All that the mixture contains is water, Essential Oils (Peppermint & Lemon) and an empty spray bottle. Find here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Natural-Grocers-Omaha-West-Nebraska/613569828723248
Im in need of a recommendation for someone who does pest control. We are having a bat problem where I live and we need someone who can figure out where they are coming...
Discovered carpenter ants when replacing several pieces of siding on our home. GRRR! Anyone know a reputable exterminator equipped to handle an ant infestation?
Kevin O. replied:
http://thehappyhousewife.com/home-management/how-to-get-rid-of-ants-with-three-ingredients/ This works beautifully... But you have to mix it exactly or it will kill the ants before they get back to the nest to puke it up for the others to eat and will eventually kill off the queen. Just resist the urge to kill them when they come to eat it... Just let the pretties feast, feast, feast.

Union Carpenters Ken Koubsky, it's Saturday they are off. Spending time at a picnic or getting their Husker watch party, they only day they get along with Red ants is Big Red Game Days.
Anyone know of a good exterminator/pest control in the Omaha area to spray for ants? I would like them to do it on an annual or biannual basis so I would like a good one...
