The doctor speaks English as does the receptionist. I had a crown done in 2 visits. My husband had an issue with an implant he got 10 years ago in the US and visits were 1) discovering the issue and planning the procedure to correct 2) microsurgery to correct the problem 3) remove stitches 4) short check up to make sure the problem had been corrected and healing had been completed. http://duo-dental.com/english/access.htm

In the past I have used a hospital dentist. This one at Yukioka Hospital in Nakazaki Cho near Umeda. It's a very old and dingy hospital but nice staff and they were open, I think, on a holiday when I needed to go. I don't know if it will be open today but there is a phone number. I go to a guy in Homachi. Honmachi Dental Clinic. He studied in the US, and is fluent in English. Super modern office/equipment. 0120-8214-55.

Dr. Sako in Shinsaibashi at the Sako Dental Clinic is really good, and he's not afraid to refer you somewhere if he thinks there's a problem (he sent me to a specialist after a few visits, who found a super rare jaw problem I had to have surgery on). There's also the Osaka Dental Hospital, where I had surgery - the main doctor I had there spoke English.

I go to Koyanagi Sensei at the Sako clinic in Shinsaibashi. Studied in NY. Cool guy.

Professor?? at Osaka Dental University in Tenmabashi is excellent, loves using English to practice for his seminars, and as students watch him work, the fee is very low. I can find his name if I search a bit.

I finally went to the clinic at Mio 9 th floor. It was a big treatment, yet it went really well. Dr.Nakanishi is awesome. Excellent English. Thanks Kelsey, and everybody who added to this thread. I've been forwarding this very useful discussion to many people over the last month.

For anyone searching Reddit for this topic. I went to Kono today, all the forms were in English, the secretary spoke English, many of the staff have been trained overseas too. Everything was explained clearly, they put my mind at ease and also were very gentle. Highly recommended.

Honjo Dental Clinic a short walk from Temmabashi station---Hiroko is one of 2 dentists there. She speaks native-like English and is VERY patient and kind. She accepts health insurance, of course.

There's also a dentist in umeda (Osaka dental clinic) with great staff who speak English very well, and one in yodoyabashi called Kono dental clinic. Had a filling there and they were great. A quick google search will easily find both

College dental. You have to ask for Dr. Allan though. He's a great doc. It's not a fancy place, but they do dentistry for a cheaper price.
