Custom ring process? Has anyone here had their engagement ring or wedding band custom made? If so, can you give me some insight into the process and length of time it...

My engagement ring was custom made. It took about 6 weeks according to FH. He went to local jeweller with a ring of mine he knew fit me for sizing.

My engagement ring and wedding band were custom made by an online company (DoAmore) but based off a design off of another website (Brilliant Earth). My first email to them was 12/29 with the look we wanted to go with. Our final approval of the design was 1/10. We received the rings on 1/24 so it took about 4 weeks total (although they were closed during the holidays so it could have actually been quicker than that since they had to catch up on emails). They don't do wax molds, only CAD renderings, so this quickened the process. It was a bit nerve-wracking to buy rings that I couldn't see in person but the 3D design was really helpful and the rings IRL turned out beautifully. They're both palladium with small diamond stones and the engagement ring is a 1.2 CT moissanite center stone.

I'm ordering my FH's wedding band through etsy. I figure I get to wear a really nice ring for the rest of my life, so why shouldn't he too? I put down a deposit and have been saving for a few months. I put another payment toward it this week, and I should be able to pay it off next month. The designer has been really easy to work with, so we'll see how it goes when it's time for the ring to be shipped. He has rave reviews and his designs are gorgeous, so I'm hopeful!

I bought the stone loose online. We then took it to a jeweller and looked at settings she’d previously made. We selected different parts of different settings we liked and she combined them into a new mounting for us and set the stone into it. It took under two weeks. I couldn’t not be happier!

We went to a local jeweler (not a big company). Check Yelp reviews. I would go in with a good idea of what you want. I was mostly holding up the process because I wasn't sure. It took them one week to create a CAD design, another week to make a wax mold, then a little under six weeks to create the final product. I love mine!

We had my engagement ring custom made by a local jeweler. After we finally settled on a design that we all parties were happy with, it took about 3 months before it was completed. https://imgur.com/NyEn6 b9 My FH's wedding band was also custom made by the same jeweler, but we used my uncles ring to cast it, so that ring didn't take long at all (maybe a month?). My wedding band is currently being made by the same guy, which is taking a bit longer because it has to match the curves of my engagement ring, and it is being set with very small diamonds.

I'm having my wedding band sort of partially-customized. I found a band I like but it wouldn't sit flush with my e-ring and also was an eternity band where I want the diamonds to stop at the same point as my e-ring. Wax mold took around 2 weeks and probably another week before it's completely finished. Edit: used a local jeweler. All our rings are from there.

I custom ordered my ring from an etsy seller in Israel. I found a similar ring that he had and asked for changes to it. It was similar enough that I didn't need a wax mold of it. It took about a month or so for him to make the ring and ship it to me during Christmas time.

I can highly recommend http://www.alyssaanna.com/ They worked with my fiance to create a custom ring for me. We don't even live in the same state and the customer service was flawless. They sent him CAD drawings photos of the 3-d print etc and were very communicative through out the process.

My ring is custom through a fairly well known jeweler. Originally I was told "6 ish" weeks until I decided on an antique stone with side stones. Now it's 12-14 weeks total. 8 weeks to custom cut the stones and 4-6 weeks to create the ring. I approved the created images within days of submitting a 50% deposit and was told they start the metal process right away. From what I understand, the next time I will be contacted will be to try on and approve the 3 d CAD.

My ring was custom. I went to a local jeweler with my bf and I picked out a diamond. Two weeks later we had an appointment with one of the shops “designers” and I basically told him what I’d like and he mocked it up in a software program for me and then sent out the design to be executed with my diamond. I chose a VERY simple custom design but some of the example shown to me were incredibly elaborate and it was a bit as expensive as you’d think. It’s worth it to know I am the only person in the world with my ring.

My ring is currently being custom made! It’s probably going to be six weeks total for it to be complete but we had to do a second wax mold because I didn’t like the tapering on the band in the first one. Assuming the BF can pick it up this week it will only be two week from second wax mold to gold to diamonds!

We visited a local jeweler to get a custom design. We put in the request in mid December (it was relatively simple, no side stones and we already had the center stone to set) and had the ring in 4 weeks. For process, I called them to schedule a meeting, brought 3-5 pictures of different things I liked and talked to them about it. He wrote it down and a few days later we got a CAD design. After a few tweaks they started production and we had it back not too long after! It was pretty painless and quick. 2.5 months is ridiculous https://imgur.com/a/NvJdL

Local jeweler all the way. My dad works in gold/jewelry, and he is helping me with my ring. The one I was looking at costs him $600-ish, and the suggested retail price of the same exact thing is nearly $2,000. If you use a big jeweler, you are wasting your money.
Nobody-Interesting replied:
It took my fiancé around 5 months to have my ring made, but that was more down to him not really being sure what he wanted and rejecting multiple wax models, plus the jeweller injured himself and had to take some time off

My fiance and I custom made my engagement ring together through a local jeweler. The entire process took about 8 weeks, but I was seeing progress and getting updates every week. We started with sketches, then did a CAD, then officially approved the design and chose the stones, the metal parts were 3 d printed, then it was sent to get the platinum done, the stones came in and was set, and then we finally got the ring. It was a long process but it was totally worth it. I really appreciated going through all of it with my fiance. It makes the ring that much more special to me.

[Mine](https://imgur.com/a/ipq90) was custom made. From point of first contact to receiving it, it was about 3 months, but most of that time was spent trying to get the proper side figured out since they kept sending sizers that were not in the sizes that FH ordered. We went through Jewelry by Johan, and they were very helpful and responsive. Once the size was finalized, it was 8 weeks I think for production. Editing to add: we just went by 3 d renderings for the design, no wax molds or anything. They did send pictures of the exact meteorite and dinosaur bone (in the wedding band) that I could pick from which was cool.

I looked at some 1890 s pics of the Arion Band ... No match on the uniforms ... I couldn't match any of the members ... The Salvation Army was active in Oshkosh at the time, but it seems most fraternal groups of that day (there were a lot of them) had a band. I'm going to try to find out more about Mr. Chase, and see where that takes me. Thanks for the suggestions!
