Can anyone recommend a good divorce lawyer? And by 'good' I don't mean someone who will make it difficult. I just need someone who will represent me well and make it...

Have ya thought about going to a mediator? Might be cheaper.

Alternative option: Since you're on good terms, check out this local Ottawa company. https://thistoo.co/ It's like a DIY divorce, although they have a team of lawyers draft up your separation agreement and the important documents.

A time machine is sometimes cheaper. God bless.

Do a separation agreement, do not go to court and manage it between yourselves. Don't get the government involved

Two of my friends recommend the http://thesdrc.com/ for assistance.

Find a lawyer through the Law Society Referral Service. Probably your best bet. Good luck.

Find a lawyer with a collaborative family law practice. [Listing site](http://www.collaborativepracticeottawa.ca/en-find.html). They agree upfront to a no-court, no-emo bullshit approach. It's cheaper, and you don't end up in a battle royale. *edit* You each need a lawyer, as usual, but they've both committed to the approach.

full disclosure: this is a client of mine You should talk to Jack Pantalone, he knows his stuff and really easy to deal with. He's a great client to have and spent a lot of time with me helping me understand how he operates so we could build his new website (not launched yet). He'd be the guy I would call if I ever had to. His clients love him, I know because I've seen the proof. http://pantalonefamilylaw.com/

I used Darrin Clayton this past summer. Efficient and relatively inexpensive. http://www.ottawafamilylaw.com/
