Does anyone know where I can get raw lamb(with bone/organ) from a local farmer/butcher? For a decent price? thank you.
Heidi M. replied:
We go to www.lavergnewesternbeef.com. For our own lamb and for Zena's meals!!
Fumie W. replied:
Dora, FYI -> http://www.bigcountryrawstore.com/Pure-Lamb-p/pl4.htm. Big Country Raw's Ontario lamb (naturally raised / hormone & antibiotic free / 4 lb for $16.25) would be less expensive than buying directly from local farmers. Sold at Cricket & Company, and Ottawa Doggy Daycare & Training Centre.:)
Fumie W. replied:
More economical 24 lb pkg -> http://www.bigcountryrawstore.com/Grab-N-Go-Simply-Pure-p/gngsp24.htm
Heidi M. replied:
lamb can be too rich for some dogs. Thankful Zena has Greek-blood and has had no issues. haha! We had her on raw turkey, chicken and beef but later found out she was highly allergic to the turkey. So I stay away from most poultry now. We have tried duck and she is good...but that is a treat from time to time:)
Heidi M. replied:
we had the saliva test done after years of wth? we spent so much money trying to figure out what was going on with her...we new she was reactive to something food related. The test really helped as it gives you a clear report of the proteins, carbs, veggies that she shows a high intolerance or reactive allergy too. I was shocked when I read the report. Oatmeal and potato were over the chart and every vet we saw before Dr. Beltran pushed foods, shampoos and treatments containing both ingredients. It's worth the money to get it done. Your going to spend more time continually trying to figure things what she can or cannot have and may cause other issues. That is my recommendation if you are going to move forward. Then you will know for sure. Good luck!
Anybody know where I can get raw chicken or duck feet to make bone broth?
Andrea E. replied:
I'm pretty sure Cricket & Company has dried ones? https://www.facebook.com/cricketandcompany?fref=ts
Veronica M. replied:
I think Danielle Simard would be able to help you. Mike Somerville
John K. replied:
They don't haul fresh chicken or duck feet from China. T&T usually has a great supply of both and reasonable prices. T&T also has pork and beef neck bones which can be used to make great broth. Damas Grocery at 3033 Carling has excellent quality sheep bones that can be used to make a fantastic broth. Needless to say, never feed your dog cooked bones of any sort.
Jane M. replied:
I am assuming it is for your dogs? Jade Hill is the expert on everything Raw for your dogs. She has a list of the best suppliers. https://www.facebook.com/JaderrObedience?fref=ts Contact her here!
Mike S. replied:
We grow our own chicken and turkey and I feed the feet and such to the dogs. We also don't have any at the moment. However the stuff from Barkers Brunch is great! It is all human grade and the prices are very reasonable. Check out their website at barkersbrunch.com

they do have a partnership that helps those kitties get adopted and it's great, however I used https://www.facebook.com/50723698731 Cat Rescue Network to find my special kitten because I wanted to support a local company that takes the extra time to know the owner and find a good match for the home, because after all cats become part of your family !https://www.facebook.com/CatRescueNetwork/
Julie R. replied:
You might want to also check out Furry Tales Rescue. They have a number of cats and kittens up for adoption and they are offering a special right now on the adoption cost due to the number of cats/kittens in their care. We've been fostering a mom and six kittens for them for awhile, and we'll be with the kittens and Mom at the Pet Valu at Kanata Centrum this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. https://www.facebook.com/FurryTalesRescue/
