Can somebody recommend a good dentist/orthodontist? So, I'm strongly considering getting Invisalign to straighten out my teeth. I'm pretty sure my dental insurance...

Check Groupon and LivingSocial, there are usually dentistry deals on there that seem pretty awesome. Other than that, I go to Southeast Denver Dental. They are very nice, I believe the lady dentist is Dr. Jones or something, she's rad:)

Former Invisalign user person here!
Insurance did not cover the cost, and the cost varies on the length of treatment. Personally, there were gaps between my front teeth that, to me, were unsightly. In addition, my teeth were pushed out to the point that I could not chomp on food with my front chompers, and had to rely on side-gnawing instead.
Best. Decision. Evar.
Here's how it's going to work.. You'll find a dentist and let them know you want Invisalign. They will evaluate you and determine if you're a candidate, then pictures will be taken and molds made. At some point in there, you will have to make a down payment so they can get the ball rolling with Invisalign.
After a brief period of time (2-4 weeks? I don't remember exactly), your dentist will ask you to come in and look at how your teeth could look using some fancy program on a big calculator. It's pretty exciting but beware, you might not end where you expect (more on that in a moment).
Once you bite the bullet, the dentist will order your trays then make sure they fit when they arrive. Despite being "fit for comfort", I always had to scrape the edges of the trays down with a fingernail to avoid irritating cheeks/gums with said edges. Small nubs may be glued to your teeth, depending on your needs. These will be removed with a drill and polishing after treatment is through, and after awhile, you really don't notice them.
Info online varies, some saying you wear them 12 hours a day, others just 8, etc. I had to wear mine 22 hours per day, only removing them to eat or while getting ready for/up from sleep time. Get a toothbrush, some floss, toothpaste - regular size is best - and a case to carry it in because you will be brushing more than you have in your life. It will probably affect your eating habits, but that just takes a little adjustment.
You will receive a month's worth a trays (two sets, where set = one for top & one for bottom) at a time. Every 2 weeks, assuming you keep them in for the far majority of the time, you will swap them out for the next set.
Your mouth will be sore! Teeth will hate you for moving them and take every chance they get to remind you. They will be sensitive to touch, so be careful when eating or placing something near your face. If anything, you become accustomed to it after a few months (my treatment lasted 8ish months), or maybe you have a thing for pain. Generally, they are sore the first 2-3 days and then it fades. Dentists may recommend you take Tylenol/IB Profen, but that never seems to make a difference, so I skipped it - up to you, really.
As time went along, there were concerns about how far my teeth were moving - per the dentist, we did a huge movement. There is normal soreness, and there is pain. I began to feel pain with my third-to-last set of trays, so we decided to stop. Close enough, as the internet would say.
After treatment, you will have to wear a retainer 8 hours a day - the idea is while you sleep. It's similar to a regular tray, but thicker and more rigid. Also, make sure it doesn't feel different than your last tray - mine did, and my teeth shifted a bit, and while not noticeable to the naked eye, the soreness factor proved otherwise. Technically, I'm supposed to wear it for a year to allow teeth sufficient time to settle in their new positions; however, my dentist says I only have to wear it for as long as I want straight teeth... I plan to wear it well over a year - they also give you a new one every six months.
Some notable points..
* Despite stopping early, I am super pleased with the results. I am able to eat and smile without being self-conscious.
* The cost is high compared to traditional braces - mine ran roughly $4500. Worth it though, imo, since you can take them out, making oral hygiene after a meal simple.
* NEVER EAT WITH THEM IN. EVER.
* Always brush your teeth after a meal. Never skip that step. Floss if you suspect anything becomes lodged between your chompers.
If I think of anything else, I'll modify this. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
