Compost Furnace update: Looking for a HVAC person with experience in radiant floors & pex tubes. Got any leads?
Cory J. replied:
Assuming you have only one length of pipe, the length of pipe is a function of the diameter, bigger diameter = longer pipe run. I would have to look up the exact numbers. For compost with a large area and relatively low heat, I would expect a zone pump is all you need. 3 speed, gives you flexibility and draws about 45 to 85 watts depending on the speed. I haven't used crimpers, just the barbed connections and hose clamps. Try this link: http://www.radiantec.com/pdf/Design_and_Construction_Manual_2014.pdf
Stephen K. replied:
PEX Crimpers are really easy to work with. They usually come properly adjusted. You crimp the copper band. Then use a Go / No Go checker which tells you if you crimped it to the correct size.
