I've always had good luck at Computer Renaissance and a friend of mine had a computer repaired there not long ago. He was very happy. And they are very close to MAX.

Before you go off to a computer repair store and spend money there's things to try. How is your original ASUS Charger broken? Frayed Wire? Cracked Case? Broken Prongs? When you last used the laptop when it was working, did you shut it down completely? Put it to sleep? Close the lid and set it aside? Was it still on the charger? And finally, a few basics to try: Does your laptop have a video out you can try to see if the maybe the monitor just went bad? Have you tried to hold the power button for 30 s (it should power cycle) Is your battery removable? If so, any signs of inflating or other damage?

Your replacement charger could be counterfeit ASUS.

Computer Resource has done a good job for me and are on the MAX just south of campus.

I'm available to help you try to transfer your files if you end up needing to buy a new PC. FYI the CSU thrift shop has desktops and laptops decent prices. Just check the specs and testing
