For a contractor, I'd recommend Francisco Gutierrez of FGDA Construction. He can be reached at 408-396-6004. He finished a master suite and guest bathroom on my home about a year ago. Stands by his work and reasonably priced. For architectural services, Jennifer Kretschmer. http://jkretschmer.com/

Not really, but if you want to know more about what kids actually do in your yard, come over to mine and see the kind of wear and tear you need to be ready for! And check out Menlo Park's Mike Lanza's blog for child-friendly yard ideas: http://playborhood.com/2009/08/our_front_yard_family_room/
Gerald Petak's wife. Cathy is an excellent landscape architect.

A nice thing to do before the baby arrives is pull out any and all poisonous plants in the yard. There are often a lot of them in yards. I did this even before the kids could walk around, 'cause leaves might blow onto blankets and stuff. Okay, maybe I was paranoid For a landscape designer Connie Lefkowits Garden Design in Los Altos is a nice choice, and she'll certainly take into account upcoming babies. For house remodeling, we were very happy with Phoebe Bressack. She's very down-to-earth and practical for large jobs and small. And she'll make sure you don't do anything that isn't kid-compatible!
