Eric, San Sebastian Airport is right at the Spain-France border, a 5 minutes taxi ride (you can walk, if you like) to the Hendaye Train Station, where there are lots o trains to Bayonne, where you get the train to SJPP. Take the yellow Airport Bus from Madrid airport to Atocha Train Station to get the train to Pamplona. Easily seen at T4 and other terminals.

I stayed at the Ibis Hotel in Bordeaux back in 2007 - it's near the train station, which houses the tourist/pilgrim office (where I got my credential and first stamp). Restaurants and cafes were open late, as I remember.

Debbie Zeffer Diana Murphy Borchert....I heard the same walking out of industrial area was long, I took a taxi out of Pamplona but walked out of Logroño with no problems, If you use apps I use Rome2Rio, when I have to figure alternative travel on the Camino. You can plug in any start/destination and it will give you any train, bus, taxi available to get you there, including times. I even use it back home in the states. Buen Camino:-)
