I love dogvacay.com!!! I had such a wonderful experience, got pictures of my dog having fun and updates, I highly recommend it. My dog got super spoiled and had friends to play with
Charmaign Wright(435) 645-5931. She's actually a vet, only allows four dogs total in her home. They run free in the house and in the backyard fence. She lets him snuggle with her in bed. Take the dogs for a couple walks a day. My dog actually didn't even want to leave when I came back for her she liked her so much. She's local to she's in the silver Creek community.
Nikola A. replied:
Active K9 does a superb job for daily daycare! They teach your dog how to behave as well too. Not just run around everywhere. I don't know if they're accepting new dog so but you can Google them. They are in Highland Drive in Park city.
Leslie B. replied:
Lots of great places/people around! I had a high-anxiety rescue dog who wanted to constantly be with humans, so ended up keeping him at our house with a dog sitter in our home rather than kennel, but all depends on your dog's needs. Our sitter is/was (dog recently passed away) our old nanny. You could ask around for someone like that (maybe care.com would have). Dr Prior (PC Animal Clinic) also has a new boarding facility at his farm in Silver Summit. Dr and vet techs on staff. Haven't seen facilities yet but heard good things. A friend suggested calling vet clinics because they often have employees who dog sit for extra $$...I did a few years ago and discovered quite a few.

Thorne Creek in Kamas is hands down the ONLY place I'd ever send my dogs - they have the best crew working for them and the nicest facility! 435-783-2364
Nate J. replied:
The Dog Nannies. It's a local PC company, licensed, insured, etc. They are trained pet professionals, not a fly by night operation. It's not a kennel- they board in homes, walk, feed, play. Call 435-640-5877
Does anyone have a puppy trainer suggestion? I have a pomsky (Pomeranian/ Husky) that I'm having a hell of a time potty training! He's 6 months old, and still isn't...

Pamela we used Amy Francis and she is freaking awesome! Best part is she teaches you the meaning behind their actions and teaches you to train them beyond her training so the positive behavior continues. And she comes to you for a reasonable price

Amy Francis IS freak'n AWESOME!

Puppy classes are meant more for socialization in my opinion. Training should be individualized. Avoid classes. Sonja Nordstrom at Sonja’s Dog Training is as good as it gets. She is a behaviorist first. Trainer second. K-9 handler for FBI for 20 years. Trains handlers and dogs for Great Basin K-9 Search and Rescue. I thought I knew everything until I met her. Check her fb page.
Bridget B. replied:
I second Sonja Nordstrom. The strongest trainer I have ever met. You’ll actually love her, I think.

I had this same question today for my 5 year old lab and was referred to Traci Madson as well. She was quick to respond and I feel very confident she has a plan specific to our dogs needs.

Rebecca A. replied:
There is a lot of controversy in the methods used by trainers. Domiance, Balanced (Cesear Milan)and positive are some of the approaches used. The research supports positive training methods. There are two in the area that are recommended by the Human Society and Best Friends trainers, Calling All Dogs and Skye's Dog Training. Look for certification in training and animal behavior, as described on Skye's site. Bad training can cause a life time of problems. I had a chow that was harmed by a dominance trainer for life, no ridiculous alpha rolls, they are not wolfs. I have not found anyone in Park City I would trust. Stay away from anyone that would take your dog to a dog park, for many reasons.
