Does anyone remember a restaurant named "GR's" in the OP area back in around 1970-1972 time frame? I don't remember where it was, but surely someone out there knows....

OOOOoooo - found an article in the 07/04/1971 KC Star - "The Burgers By Phone Featured Ordering by telephone from tables is a customer aid to facilitate faster service at GR’s, a Gilbert/Robinson specialty hamburger restaurant at 9545 Antioch Road, Overland Park. The restaurant is a pilot model for additional similar facilities designed for family dining with a special children’s menu. The menu selections include 15 varieties of hamburgers with char-broiled and hickory augmented by peanut butter, Reuben and pizza burgers. Five frankfurter recipes and four chopped sirloin selections will be offered. Corn-on-the- cob will be served year-around and hot banana fritters are a dessert option. Hand-painted circus characters designed bv Karl Mann & Associates, New York, and made in London accent the red, white and blue split- level interior. The restaurant seats 144 persons. Parking is available on the 22,400-square- foot lot. GR’s marks the beginning of the Gilbert/Robinson Fast Foods Division, headed by Richard C. May. Ron Barkley manages the new restaurant where 22 persons are employed.
