Joanne. Our how to hire a contractor tips will give you some good information before you pick your contractor... Make sure 1) Contractor pulls all permits under his / her license. 2) You get an insurance certificate from the contractor listing you as certificate holder.. 3) New Kitchen Qualifies as a Capital Improvement.. No sales tax should be charged and you should get a capital improvement certificate. 4) You should get a waiver of lien with final payment..
