Paul and Lee...it depends on what state you are from...Locksmith rules/laws/certification are governed on a state by state basis. In Indiana, where I live you do not have to be licensed. That is good in some ways...but many places, such as some of the locksmith supply houses "require" a copy of your license to purchase from them..so when you tell them that you are not licensed it can be a bit of a hassle.

Anymore Rob. People want 5 years commercial..residential..and automotive experience. These days when people would train you pretty much over. Not only in this vocation but many others. Everyone wants experience but no one wants to give you any.Not all are that way but a lot. It is the school of hard knocks for most.
