Babies are 5 months and we are not pleased with the current pediatrician/doctors office. Anyone have recommendations? Also need to find a pediatric ophthalmologist and...
Rebecca S. replied:
We use Garden City and like them so I can definitely recommend them. We used to be at North Shore Pediatrics but our Dr. left and they moved their office so it became too far away. As far as an opthamologist goes, we go to Dr. Sorkin in Peabody at Microsurgical Eye Consultants and we like him as well. http://www.meceye.com/doctor_sorkin.htm
Katie M. replied:
North shore pediatrics is great. We love Dr. Dufresne. At our last appt they saw the triplets plus one of my older kids. They never make us wait long either.
Rachel D. replied:
I like Kids Health in the Cummings Center, Beverly.
Heather W. replied:
We see Dr. Seman at North Shore Pediatrics in Danvers (in rt 62). We just love him so much, and everyone we have seen has been so great. We feel very lucky. But like Erin, I have also heard good things about Garden City as well.
Kathryn M. replied:
It is probably too far for you to to come to Reading! We love Dowd Medical in Reading!! If anyone is looking for Ped Doctors in that area! I can't say enough good things about Dowd!
Kristin E. replied:
My toddler goes to Dr. Higgins at pediatric assoc of greater salem. He said when the twins come he'll see them at the same time. I like him because he's laid back and really good with my daughter. For example I quit bf-ing at 9 mths and he was fine/no judgment on us going straight to whole milk for her a few months early. Her iron levels and weight were fine so he didn't see a problem with it. I appreciated that he didn't just spout "the rules" to us.
Deb S. replied:
Pediatric Associates of Greater Salem. Dr Campbell and dr Morgan are great. For pediatric eye doctors, we've seen Dr Jeff Sorkin in Peabody. He is part of microsurgical eye consultants.
Erin L. replied:
Where are you located? We are very happy with Pediatric Associates of Greater Salem and it's 5 minutes from our house. They see Dr. Cheryl DeSousa. I've also heard great things about Garden City Pediatrics in Beverly.
Jennifer D. replied:
Too bad Dr. Sorkin doesn't take you insurance. We have a great relationship with him and as someone who used to work in the eye world I can attest that finding a good eye doctor is difficult. The trouble is Dr. S is one of the only "pediatric fellowship trained" opthamologists on the No. Shore. Sorry I don't have other suggestions. As for pediatricians I would second, third, fourth Garden City Pediatrics. We LOVE Dr. Sleeper and actually switched to him when my twins were 6 months old from another doctor within the practice that we were not happy with at all (Dr. Goldstein). But in the end I say go with someone good, that you feel comfortable with, and somone relatively close. All I can say is thank god at times I live 5 minutes from them!
Kristin H. replied:
We love Dr. Sorkin! He has a great way with kids!
Elaine M. replied:
We use Dr. Sorkin (Microsurgical Eye Care), Dr. Danis (North Shore Pediatrics and used Dr. Zimbler for orthoped but I think he finally retired
Sheryl H. replied:
When we lived in Peabody and for a bit after we moved north we had Garden City Pediatrics in Beverly....I cannot say enough good things about them. We had Dr. Sheryl Silva. But all of the Dr's are wonderful!

Tammy J. replied:
We've used Pediatric Health Care for the past 15 years. It's super convenient because they are open 7 days a week and until 9:00 during the week. All the Doc's are great. My problem with them though is that they've gotten so big that it's hard to get sick appointments with your own Dr. And a lot of times when you call you're either on hold forever or you have to leave a msg and wait for someone to call you back. They've made some improvements recently because they got a lot of feedback saying the same thing. They do have a lab and x-Ray on site and it's open on weekends as well. My kids all see Dr Kanarek and he's great but my guess is that he will retire in the next few years, but all the other drs are great as well. Good luck!
Sandra M. replied:
We go to pediatric health care in centennial park. Dr. Dunau is her primary but we have seen a few other doctors and I have liked them all . They are open til 9 pm and holidays. They have a ton of different equipment there so can so a lot of on site testing if needed. I went there while pregnant and met with the dr herself, had an office tour which was awesome. She came to the hospital was ari was born and the following day to check on her . I have always been able to immediately get in there if needed
