I used to work for British Gas and we were instructed that as a precautionary we should ALWAYS switch off and contact Transco if there was any smell and also open a window Better to be safe and when you phone them they will agree They normally come out pretty quick Hope this helps Stay safe

If boiler is gas best phone 0800111999. open all windows etc. Thats gas emergency. They are best guys for the job if you are smelling fumes

Sara Maciver yes bulbs generally can be replaced I believe.. think generally done by plumbers or electricians

You have to turn the water off and then the pressure in the system will reduce enough to be able to open the UV housing. The bulb should be changed every 2 years and the filter every 6 months. We order filters by the boxes of 6 and 2 light bulbs. We buy them online at 'water filter shop.co.uk'
