I don't know how much is too much for you on hotels but we got 3 nights and 4 days for 225 on goseek.com in pensecola right in the middle of everything and 5 minutes from the beach. Nice hotel too. I just figured I through that out there. We were looking into the camping also until I found that website.

Laura Cooper Gaither, from one mom to another, DONT DO IT!! It is SOO hot down there right now and I can only imagine how hot you already are being 6.5 months along. Could I suggest that you look at the camp grounds on Dauphin Island, Al. You will love it there, so will the kids. The estuarium and aquarium is are rigth across the street from the camp grounds and one of the islands historic Forts are rigth down the street. But research the island. I think you will love it. No high rises, only one set of condos and they are only 3 stories high. It is SO family friendly. You migth be able to find something to rent that you can better justify. Good Luck.
