St. Pete Beach or Treasure Island just outside of Tampa is beautiful and family friendly. Nearby is a zoo rated #1 by Parent's Magazine. http://www.lowryparkzoo.com . Lots of great hotel info on Trip Advisor.

We stayed there a few times when it was The Disney Inn, loved it . Was sad when Disney leased it to the military!! All Disney resorts should be available to military at reduced rates.

We loved the Marriot at Harbour Lake in Orlando. Pool with a water slide, splash pad, kids pool with a pirate ship, mini golf. Kids wanted to leave Disney to go back to the hotel!
